Default montana trip

posted some photos on abpf in lieu of a trip report. several will be
large downloads because i grouped some of the photos. tim, i'll try to
send you all of them when i get time. it was a great trip and a fun
time. lots of good fishing in pretty places with excellent companions
and friends. i learn new things each adventure and i'm grateful to each
of you that shared your days and evenings with me. the folks i've met
and shared time with from roff have been exceedingly gracious (well,
most of them), and i'm appreciative. mike...as always...it's a privilege
to fish with you, and you're nearly as fine a fishing roommate as indian
joe (though i think his metamucil regimen might have some salutary
benefits you should consider G)

let's do it all again soon.

oh yeah...for those interested, the slide inn is apparently for sale. a
trust conservancy is trying to buy it to preserve the 14-16 acres for
public access and use. not sure what the story on the sale is...i'll
miss the galloups and the place.

Guess I'll have to get ABPF hooked up.

let's do it all again soon.

What ya doing next week?

I asked Kelly about this. He said it was all rumint (rumor
intelligence). The other fly shops said it was a done deal. We'll see
what happens. Kelly is a wonderful asset and extremely knowledgable on
the fishing in the area. He approaches the foodstuffs of the trout
with a scientific eye. His crawfish pattern is testiment to that. If
he does indeed close the Slide Inn, I hope he does stay in the area and
continue in the fly fishing business in some way. Unfortunately, OLN
has cancelled his TV show.

Tim, maybe you could grab them from abpf and put them up on your pages?
Getting binaries from usenet is...circuitous...for me.

Send away when ready, Captain. FWIW, when I have the longing and the time, I
peruse through those photo essays again and again. It's nice to have them
all in one place and it's a selfish act on my part to collect them.

Jeff usually posts only a sampling of his excellent photos on abpf and sends
oodles (scientific term you wouldn't understand) more with captions to me.
Also, I don't subscribe to abpf at work. I'm inclined to wait until I
receive the batch - well worth waiting for. . .

I hope not, but they are still handing out brochures in some of the
flyshops in West Yellowstone. I read about it in the Blue Ribbon last
week. I like Kelly and his place a lot, and it would be a shame if the
place went the way of a lot of other family businesses.

Tim...actually, i took fewer photos this year and posted most on abpf.
i'll send all when i can. can you remind me by e-mail of the address i
should send them? i trust i can send them in batches and don't have to
do them individually. thanks.

Kelly told me Thursday the deal is off. He was taking bookings for 07.
Not to say they will not talk again, but as of now, the" back burner"
is occupied.
