Getting involved is a simple as calling your local scout troop and offering to help. I've had the pleasure of helping two separate groups of boys obtain this badge. I think I learned as much or more than they did. I took the first group off to the Colorado river and one of the boys caught a 22" bow on his first freeking cast. I'm on my third group now and they've gotten through a woolly bugger and a pheasant tail, next week is a parachute pattern. Their "graduation" trip is going to be in the Smoky's the middle/end of October. |
