Trip to Bozeman area in mid October

We are thinking of making a 4 day weekend trip.
I know it will be cold - probably.
( its my b'day weekend )

I do want to get a taste of a big city again and see a movie or 2 so we will
stay in the city - downtown one night -
But we also want to fish and get out of the city

Does anyone have any suggestions on rivers to fish , places to see, places
to stay & places to eat?

We will be coming in from up North.

The Gallatin fishes well year round and last time I was there
the Cafe Internationale was the best restaurant in Bozeman.

It is the big city to me...now.
At least it the biggest city I want to see again.
We live fairly rural.

Isn't the Gibson guitar factory there- or it was before they moved to TN?

gibson has a small operation in bozeman, where much of their high end
stuff is produced.

Funny to hear you say that. Whenever I tell people that I have an
Epi copy of the SG, they just scoff. I just smile to myself and think
of how much I saved on it versus a "real" Gibson.

I have a vintage Gibson L4 and it is great- some sound!
It was made in the US a long time ago - but I'm certain that things have
changed.

my earlier observation was based upon my playing of the recent
"masterbilt" line of acoustics marketed under the epi name, chuck. i can't
vouch for anything else. still, my son, who is very knowledgeable
concerning electrics, alleges that the epi copies of gibson's legendary "les
paul" models are very good.

Until the MT clave last year, I hadn't been in Bozeman since, oh, I
guess 1993 or so. It's grown a LOT since then. Got lost more than
once, navigating from memory. The traffic on the north side of town
over by the River's Edge was awful.

Was up there about a week ago. At a dinner I attended, one of the
university VPs claimed that the area is currently growing at about
15% per year...
