just realized that when I delete one news group all other news groups are
also deleted-----after nine years of using this thing I still learn
something every day.

Just think of all the wonderful salmagundi that I have wasted.

Any suggestions of a method of deleting all Roff mess without wiping out
other newsgroups? I use AT&T world

thanks for all the suggestions--I will try to understand them tomorrow PM
( got to college in AM-just like OPIE}

but think I need to explain what I'm doing now---
read messages on a newsgroup- roff- bass fishing etc--then want to delete so
I hit
Tools-Options-Maintenance-clean up now-delete-yes-close- ok
Is there another way to delete all read messages on a newsgroup? The
problem ( I have just realized } is that this method deletes all other
unread newsgroups.

Please realize that when you send suggestions for better methods you are
writing to an old indian who never was even any good at starting the fire
under the blanket ! Keep it simple- thanks
again Joe

Dude... what you really want is not to see uninteresting usenet
posts.... you don't really care if you delete them or not, you just
don't want to be troubled by them any more.

your goal is so close... close your eyes and find your happy place...
imagine a world where useless Usenet posts trouble you no more... you
open Outlook Express, and you only see new posts... (no more wading the
riffles)

repeat the following mantra:

*I don't care where they go, I just don't want to see them anymore*
.....

Your path:
Click on "View" in your top tool bar, select
"Current View", then "Hide Read Messages".

Once this is done, and while in a news group (such as ROFF), Go back to
the top tool bar,
select "Edit", then "Mark All Read"... sit back, play that Regina
Spektor .MP3 you've been saving for moments like this, uncork that
bottle of 2002 APEX Winery Syrah you have hidding in the laundry room,
and relish the moment of::::::::: no more uninteresting Usenet posts.

*** this is where you never have to be troubled by Uniteresting Usenet
posts again***

(they may still be there, but you don't see then, it's as if, they
don't exist)

option 2)

Uplug the computer, place it carefully in the box it came in, call UPS,
ship it back where it came from.
