Could have been Steve... but as I remember now, this morning... I believe it
was from the guy out in Vegas that was with Mega-Strike. Damn... I loved that stuff. (secret ingredient of the MTC 2006, BTW) "Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers" wrote in message ... "Charles Summers" wrote in message ... Actually, I heard somewhere that garlic was a fish repellant. I think it was from the guys that make fish attractants, but can't remember which one right now. Their theory made sense to me though... LOL, I think that you were being fed a line Charles by guys that are pushing something other than garlic. While I'm not a huge fan of scents while fishing, I've caught a lot of fish with garlic scented lures. My God, Chompers probably has the highest concentration of garlic of any lure and I've caught a ton of fish with them. The only problem is when I do fish them, I get a craving for Italian food! For the life of me, I don't understand why garlic would be attractive to fish, but then again, anise oil has been used too. When was the last time you saw a bass feeding on a school of licorice? -- Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers http://www.outdoorfrontiers.com G & S Guide Service and Custom Rods http://www.herefishyfishy.com |

To listen to them, unless you were using Mega-Strike, you were never going to catch a fish, ever again! :-) -- Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers http://www.outdoorfrontiers.com G & S Guide Service and Custom Rods http://www.herefishyfishy.com |

(secret ingredient of the MTC 2006, BTW) I love Mega Strike as well, it is the only scent I have used for the last couple of years, I'm a FIRM believer in it,, but ,,,,,,,,,,,, Put some on your finger and smell it,, they swear it has no garlic in it,, well,,, they have sure imitated that garlic smell well :-) I have a tube of it here on my desk right now I would bet donuts to dollars, that's Garlic in Mega Strike, or some chemical that smells just like it. If I was selling Mega Strike, I sure would not want anyone to know you could make your own from Vaseline, and garlic powder -- Rodney Long, Inventor of the Mojo SpecTastic "WIGGLE" rig, SpecTastic Thread, Boomerang Fishing Pro. ,Stand Out Hooks ,Stand Out Lures, Mojo's Rock Hopper & Rig Saver weights, and the EZKnot http://www.ezknot.com |

Say what you will... but whenever I think I need something to help my fishing, it'll be Mega-Strike. That being said, I've never had any reason to use anything... especially on Powerworms. |

Still "smells" like "garlic", no mater what it is. Maybe that's why garlic works so well, it "smells" like the "enzyme" those guys at Mega Strike claim that drives fish so wild ? :-) -- Rodney Long, Inventor of the Mojo SpecTastic "WIGGLE" rig, SpecTastic Thread, Boomerang Fishing Pro. ,Stand Out Hooks ,Stand Out Lures, Mojo's Rock Hopper & Rig Saver weights, and the EZKnot http://www.ezknot.com |
