![]() "John" wrote What do you look for in book about fly fishing such that you will actually take action and buy it? I don't own it. I can't remember the fellows name, but I once met a man living on the banks of the Williamson in Chiloquin, Oregon right where the bridge in town crosses the water, that was a fishing book dealer. His small house was lined with shelves, and I mean lined, all walls, all rooms, floor to ceiling, filled with books, mainly "fishing books." Not an unattractive interior decoration scheme, imho G -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

I am like most flyfishers in that I have bought too many shelves full of fly fishing bopoks from Half Price Books simply because they were there. The last couple of years, it is only when Gierach publishes another book and then I go on auto pilot. I think my favorites are Even Brook Trout Get The Blues( I like the chapter about gar fishing) and Trout Bum. I will buy another one this year in that I have heard that there is another edition of Keith Fulsher's Book about tying the Thunder Creek Series of streamers and I have never found a copy I could buy of the origional book or pamplet or whatever it is called. If the guys that did Forgotten Flies did another such book, I guess I would sell a stack of fly rods so I could buy a copy of that book. Big Dale |

![]() wrote Polly? didn't you go there to pick up some flies? No, the book guy was a different guy, near a different bridge over the Williamson, maybe a mile upstream from where Polly had his trailer. On the book subject ... on my second visit with Polly I asked him to sign my copy of Fuzzy Nymphs .... he wanted $50 to do it!! .... it remains un-signed -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |
