Default Leader won't turn over?

Hello all U lovely ROFFers,

Last night I was casting across the lower American River, ~120 feet with my
new Sage TXL '000' weight rod. I almost had to double haul to reach the
other side. I was using my normal 27' hand tied leader (secret formula) and
had trouble turning over my 11' of 8x tippet? I did have a 27 mph head wind
so that might have been the problem. I did have rather large titanium
dumbbell eyes on my #8/0 x 16" Clouser Minnow that perfectly imitates an
injured female juvenile King salmon.

I was able to land a trophy class fish in each type of fish that is in the
river now. I was shocked that I could only land a small Yellow Fin Tuna of
about 32 pounds. We have had many big schools up as high as Sacramento with
the salt water intrusion in our Delta system. Where's the wassabi?

I haven't changed the anti-freeze in the radiator that cools my drag system
in years so that could be causing some excessive over heating as well.

I almost have my new book finished, "How to catch fish on flies without even
trying!" I will send Kenny and Wolfy an autographed copy. In it there is a
special chapter on catching fish on your backcast.

PS: I am registered at Northrivers Jet Boats for a birthday or Christmas
present if anyone hits the lotto.

Gee Bill, drop buy American River Fly on your way home and ask for
Gary, tell him I sent you, he can help you work on that haul.

you know, Bill......it is seldom that one encounters the
complete idiot, but you might just have the whole package
going on out there. Is this a new brainstorm to drum up business for your
shop??

I know you are going to catch a lot of crap...but, first, gink up your fly
real good, and then, spit on it. Not the PFFT kinda spit but just spot a
drop of saliva on it...should take care of your problem...beats the heckout
of split shot...

Hi Tom,

That's pretty funny....I guess you didn't know that fly shops are part of a
special non-profit small business group in America?
