It'll be at least 12 (hopefully, 18) months before I have to hear "I'm
XXXX, and I approved this message."

The US Senate will be equally split 50 Republicans and 50 Democrats
when Lincoln Chafee stuns the political world by declaring himself
a Democrat. Whereupon Joe Lieberman immediately declares himself a
Republican returning the Senate to 50-50 and under Republican control.

Geez, is there ANYTHING on which Pelosi doesn't intend to increase the
tax?

Feel free to add more.

I'd predict that with 10,000 lawyers "standing by," there's pretty good
odds of hitting at least a couple of 'em...

.....WITH A DART! WITH A DART!...calm down, wayno...

And seriously, I'll predict that if the Dems take control of Congress,
Iraq will still be going on when the US Presidential shtick gets into
full swing...and the talking heads will again be pimping polls that show
how important Iraq is to voters...and yet another round of polls showing
that voters don't tell pollsters the truth...

R

All too feasible, but I wouldn't call 50-50 "Republican Control". Despite
the VP's role in ties, I'm not sure that that's as important as the
agreements in place to divvy up Committee Chairs. Plus, 51-50, would mean
that the GOP took a drubbing today, would mean that there may well be a few
savvy Republican Senators who wouldn't want to commit political suicide by
rubber-stamping the Executive Branch. I don't think, for example, that
they'd be able to hold the fillibuster hostage anymore.
