That's one of the funniest things I've ever heard of Ken....
"Ken Fortenberry" wrote in message .. . Charles Summers wrote: Bottom posted reply just to be ****y too: Some people just want to be ****y bill... do what makes you feel good. Outlook Express defaults to the top of the message, so that's why I top post. Top-posting has killed this newsgroup. If not for top-posting all members of the professional bass tour would not only post here daily with tips and anecdotes about the pro tour, they would also give away marketing freebies like rods, reels, trolling motors, outboards and big honkin' red metal flake bass boats. But people like you insist on top-posting. Don't blame me. -- Ken Fortenberry |

I know what you mean Joe... I passed too many trucks with boats attached
this morning. I tried not to look too pitiful. "Bass_Mr." wrote in message . .. Driving home from work today I saw some guys fishing from the bank near my house and some more guys loading their boat on the trailer. What really sucks is when it is almost 80 degrees in November and you can't go fishing. That's my on topic post for this week. ![]() "Charles Summers" wrote in message ... Here's a solution to the lack of activity. Say something stoopid about the Boomerang Fishing thinggy. That'll get things moving! "Marty" wrote in message ... Let's finally be honest... what is killing this newsgroup is those who keep
telling posters all the things they cannot do & all the thing they consider to be off topic. I was a welcome poster here until my knowledge of certain areas of fishing allowed me to go professional, at which time my contributions became persona non grata to some. That is stupid! This group can again be great, but posters will have to just quit being gutless wimps, and instead post what they want regardless of who it might offend. Unfortunately, this group today is as totally useless as the United Nations! Bob Rickard An intelligent professional who occasionally posts information that may be useful to some... decide for yourself! .................................................. .................................................. ................... "Ken Fortenberry" wrote in message . com... Marty wrote: Never in my 6+ years have I seen such little activity here. ?????????????????????????? It's the top-posting. The convention in those Usenet newsgroups that are active, vital and full of activity is the Usenet standard of putting the reply below the text you're replying to, like I'm doing here. Too many people in this newsgroup are top-posters and that'll kill a newsgroup faster than a 6-4-3 kills a big inning. -- Ken Fortenberry |

Intelligent denizens of Usenet newsgroups never top-post and most are put off by having to put up with it. You won't have a vital, active, busy newsgroup so long as you have a high percentage of top-posting. Same with VT52's and DEC Vax 780, and it's forerunners. You could not easily move around the screen and since a KSR was a paper I/O there was not backing up. |
