Jack in Tennessee ----------------- Jack, if you like American-made reels, then you're really going to appreciate hearing about Ardent Reels (http://www.ardentoutdoors.com/index.asp). This Missouri company manufactures the only high-performance, high-quality U.S.-made reel on the market today. I had a chance to test their casting reel in October at Paris Landing on Kentucky Lake. Using identical Airrus Joe snipped Thanks, Joe. I have used Penn Reels for years, having lived fairly close to the factory when I was in school in Philadelphia. I built a drop shot rod last month to Steve's specs and wanted to put a new reel on it. As the weather here, as you know, has been somewhat windy, I suspect I am done for the year with a few days available until February, perhaps. Will keep an eye out for that reel. Thanks and happy Thanksgiving. Jack |
