It appears DeLay thinks Hillary will be elected in 2008 and will tab Obama as her veep: http://www.freemarketnews.com/WorldNews.asp?nid=28995 Of course he goes on to blame it on the media working in concert with a "liberal coalition" run by Carville, Blumenthal, Begala and Ickes. Even better if they can get him in a TX state facility. -- Scott Sadly, you and I both know he isn't likely to get any prison time and if he did it would be in a Club Fed facility. That's the way the system works, when you are connected politically or you have wealth. Think Michael Milkin and Ivan Boesky! "in Wall Street's biggest criminal prosecution ever, 98 indictments of fraud and racketeering were brought against Milkin. On April 14, 1990 Milkin was sentenced to ten years in jail and agreed to pay $600 million in fines." http://www.brainyhistory.com/events/...93_167702.html Milkin entered a minimum-security facility at Pleasanton, California in 1991. Two years later he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and his prison sentence was reduced to time served. He was given 12 to 18 months to live. Milkin established Cap CURE, and raised $75 million to fund research into finding a cure for prostate cancer. In 1996 he and his brother Lowell founded Knowledge Universe, an educational services company which in a few years time was logging $1.5 billion in sales annually. In 1997 the Milkin Institute, an economics think tank, was created. The following year, Milkin's The Taste for Living Cookbook became a bestseller. http://eightiesclub.tripod.com/id316.htm On May 18, 1986 Ivan Boesky gave the commencement address at Milkin's alma mater, the University of California at Berkeley's business school. "I think greed is healthy," he told his enthusiastic audience. "You can be greedy and still feel good about yourself." A few months later Boesky was indicted on the charges that would land him in Southern California's Lompoc Federal Prison, also known as Club Fed West. http://eightiesclub.tripod.com/id316.htm Op ---- |

Even better if they can get him in a TX state facility. Thus demonstrating your and Op's political acumen. If an equally-crooked nest-feathering partisan ****ass tries to put the little turd in a Texas prison (esp. on trumped-up charges of which he's likely not guilty), it makes a martyr out of him (and one with a legit outcry). Let him run around with his cakehole open, and he marginalizes himself even further than he already is. There's no worse punishment for a creature like DeLay. In the event any real evidence of his actual crimes surface, let a USA (as non-partisan as possible) get him. R |

Well this alone assures him of my vote! I am not sure that a socialist in the Whitehouse, be it Hillary or Obama, would be beneficial to this nation. The expansion of the failure of Great Society, and allowing every group to claim civil rights recognition, can only polarize this nation to a new higher level. As for Obama being a moderate (the often claim of the major media), consider the following: http://www.adaction.org/ The ADA Today Barack Obama (Illinois) Liberal Quotent (LQ) Rating: 100 (out of 100) The rating of 100 is considered [perfect]. From the ADA newsletter: " Liberal Quotient (LQ) is the rating of a Member of Congress determined by the percentage of votes cast in support of liberal policies, measured against the number of votes counted. The votes selected cover the full spectrum of domestic, foreign, economic, military, environmental and social issues. We often chose procedural votes, amendments, motions to table, or votes on rules for debate. These votes can reveal true attitudes obscured in final votes. " And from the opposite side of the political spectrum: http://www.conservative.org/archive2/2008potus.asp The American Conservative Union gave Obama a score of 8 (also out of 100). Even Hillary managed a 12 from this organization. |
