There may be some truth to that. But it is ALSO because
windows is a lot easier to exploit--because of poor OS and browser
design choices. The examples are too numerous to list here.

Well no--because windows IS easier to exploit.
That's simply the way it is.

Apache/linux has a huge market share among web
servers, and it's damned hard to crack apache, while
breaking into Microsoft IIs is a piece of cake.
Moreover, when vulnerabilities in apache are found,
they tend to get fixed almost right away. Gaping holes
in Microsoft products tend to take months or even
years to get patched.

Funny, I haven't had any major problems with it. All my applications seem
to work, haven't had a virus since a harmless word macro virus that
requires a replacement of normal.dot in about 1994. Haven't had an OS
crash that required much more than a reboot. All in all, less than 2% of
my time goes toward sys management of my desktop/laptops.

I might not love every piece of their software--I avoid IE like the plague,
but that's hardly a statement of doom for the platform. I might not
appreciate their business practices, but that's got little to do with the
end product.

I didn't buy it by intention. I got it with the computer. No choices
of OS there. Not that I mind it. While I did once know how to use a
command line interface for everything, point and click is a nice
thing. Good of the Mac people to make it popular enough for someone
to make for PCs I've been using it since 1.x.

I won't go into what I don't like about the company and their
policies, but I find a graphic OS to be very convenient to use.

As you know, we get few opportunites to fish in a stream at this time
of year in this neighborhood. A day in Valley Creek sounds real
tempting. Unfortunately, it is impossible for me to visit Ursula and
