Default Another reel seat question

In article l, Hans

There is a thin tape, made from cork and with a self-adhesive side, that
served me well to fix my reels in such conditions. Just adjust it under the
horn of the reel and cut to shapwith a razorblade (mind you fingers).

My big rod (6/7 wt Guideline Pro) has an uplocking reel seat, and over
time I've noticed that the horn in the reel sits deeper and deeper in
the top ring, making the locking ring have to reach farther and farther
up to lock down the reel. Its at the point now where I'm right at the
ends of the threads in the seat. It doesn't look like anything is
sliding around...just that the horns on the reel are settling deeper
and deeper up in the seat.

What could be causing this, and how do I repair it? I've thought of
wrapping tape around the horns on the reel, or looking for an extra
long set of horns to screw onto the reel, or adding another 'spacer
ring' above the locking ring, but these don't seem like the proper
solution.

Hi Myron,

Would it be possible to epoxy the horns of an old reel under the horns of
the reel you're using? This might prove too much adjusment, but it's an
idea.

Hi Myron, something like this sounds better than my idea.
