Default Global Warming Summary

I got forwarded this article on the state of global warming research.
I thought it was fairly balanced:

.....was an interesting read. There seems to be a lot of hand wringing
about the warming's cause (not necessarily in the above review):
is the warming caused by man's activity?
or is it because of "natural variability?"

These are politically loaded phrases because one conclusion
will cost the energy companies less anxiety than the other.

But in the end, it still doesn't matter all that much.
If the icecaps melt and the ocean levels rise 70 feet,
the waves will still be lapping into third story apartment windows
in Manhattan. Why it happened won't matter that much.
All the surfboard shops in California will have to relocate
several miles inland. Could ruin your whole surfing day.

Of course, if man made carbon does play a role, then maybe
we can *still* do something. Fat chance in hell about that.

I thought the French response ("Climate fears darken Eiffel Tower")
was particularly funny.
