Default Going to Disney in March, where to fish?

The wife and I are taking the kids to Disney From the 3rd to the 8th for
some family fun. We will be renting a car and I'll be bringing some tackle.
Can anyone suggest locations of some decent bass ponds that I can get to for
some late evening fishing once or twice?
I will have my GPS so all I need are coordinates or street directions
and I'm good. I'll probably be able to get out from 9pm to 12 or 1am after
the kids are in bed. If it were pre-arranged, I might be able to sneak away
for a very early morning trip like from 5 to 9 or something. If anyone
wants to take me out and show me around, that would be huge! I would be
very grateful for any help at all on this subject.

Thanks,
Rich P

I believe I read somewhere that there is bass fishing right on the
Disney grounds. I think the article talked about hiring guides from
Disney to fish for either a half or full day. I don't know if they
let you fish without a guide but it would be worth checking into.

Yeah, I did that last year. I think it was almost $300 including the tip
for a 2 hour excursion. I got 2 hits and landed them both, one about 5
pounds and one about 3. The guide fished along side me the whole time and
got nothing. Still, that's a lot to pay for 2 fish. I'd rather get a
license and hit the public ponds once or twice.

Are you staying on the grounds of the evil mouse, or renting a place off
site. Both have their perks, but in the case of fisherman, the biggest
perk if the ponds that virtually any development/condo property,
whatever you might rent a place in has. Last time we rented a house, I
caught more fish from the ponds on property, walking the bank in the
early AM than I did on the excursions I made to bigger lakes.

I did the same thing last year. We stayed at the Caribbean Resort and it
had it's own lake so I fished every night, but I only got little ones. This
year we're staying in the All Star Music Resort. It's the budget place but
it's the only place we could get a suite without going 1'st class. Anyhow,
on Google earth it looks like it's surrounded by a bunch of small ponds,
maybe even drainage ditches. I don't know if they'll be much good but I'll
try. There are tons of good lakes around there and if I get the chance, I
would like to visit one or two.

On an off-topic side note, I was meaning to ask how the Hackensack is
this winter. The Housy has probably 5 times as many winter stripers in
it as usual.

I'm on hiatus for a few months so I couldn't say but the bite really died
off in the end of December. I fished right up till the Friday before
Christmas and I did poorly the last couple of outings (after an excellent
fall run). I'm sure there are still some just a little farther east in the
lower Hudson waters around Manhatten, but the Hacky seems to clear out when
the bait gets consumed to a point. I'm pretty sure it's not the temp
because the Hacky is generally warmer than the bay most of the time. Lot's
of really dark mud flats all over the Hacky.

The Housy is still holding up. I haven't been in two weeks, but if I see
two or three days in a row over 40 degrees, I'll jump for the chance
to get out again. Guys who were out last weekend got 40 something
schoolies and a couple keepers last weekend.

The way this global warming thing is going, they may start camping out in
the tri state area all winter instead of going all the way to NC. In 10
years we may start seeing striper fishing for 9 months of the year instead
of 6. Exciting and scary at the same time.

So with total ice sheet melt off how much would the oceans rise?
