The weekend of the 18th is Penn State graduation and
I'm having a hell of a time trying to find a room. And where is
Clave Central anyway ?

In reverse order:
Clave Central is a somewhat worn trailer on the outskirts of Hemlock Acres
campground.
Many of us are arriving on the 20th(Sunday) precisely to
avoid the Graduation onslaught. Lodging should be easy
by then. Check the Millheim hotel, for basic nearby
lodging, or Shaeffer's cabins, in nearby Aaronsburg as well. A bit further
away, Bruce(softhackle) Fisher has
some nice rooms for a group of folks at www.pennscreekangler.com

p.s. Email me, and we will work on this together. It's
what Clavemeisters do, or so they tell meg

It's not gonna work out this year. We're going to northern
Wisconsin for a vacation starting the 26th so I was hoping
to get to the early-bird part of the Penn's Clave assuming
it started on the 18th.

Maybe next year. I hope you guys have great weather and a
great time.

BTW, do you have a hatch chart for "Reid's Run"

Early morning to noon: Ducks, size 10/0
Afternoon--Coolers, size variable
Evenings--Bears, hatch may be heavy

no need to imitate nymphs of any kind, as no self-
respecting nymph would ever venture into that meadow....

I'm heading out of here on the evening of the 16th or in the wee hours of
the 17th. I hope to hook up with Chuck for a day or so before he leaves on
Saturday. John and I have discussed a couple of options.....joining you and
Mark for the Upper Creek campout was on the list but appears to have been
crossed off for logistical reasons. Nothing else has been decided yet. Am
willing to entertain just about any ideas. John has graciously offered his
deluxe traveling yurt as a base camp. One way or another we gonna have us
some FUN!

Over to you, John.

Wolfgang

Well, I still hate to see you head down I-75 and both of us end up with two
vehicles but it is what it is...I'd be glad to pick up a hitch hiker or
two..

It's about seven hours, depending on the stops for me to get to Elkmont
campground ( I believe that is the staging area? ) So I'd be inclined to
leave in the wee hours.. 5 weeish in order to get there and set up with
plenty of Daylight and fish in the evening right there in the campground.
speaking of which, some thought needs to given to reserving a campsite...not
that it will be crowded but if you want waterfront....two or three
adjacent....

I'm pretty danged familiar with that side of the park and a death march
could be easily arranged (pack lunch and all that) down Abrams Creek toward
the falls, it's limestone and plenty of fish (tho' educated).

Personally, in that park I keep ALL my food in the van and don't cook all
that much mostly sandwiches and stuff, warming up premade gravy for
breakfast and as always, plenty of hot strong coffee....

All those who reply will be added to group so details may be more easily
exchanged. I plan to swing thorough Penns on the way home...

john...as I said I'm pretty familiar with that side of the park...hell all
sides...on the south side the road to nowhere holds good fish, straight
creek is nice and if the light is right it's one of my favorites...real
Jurassic...

John,
I look forward to seeing you, and any hitchhikers you might acquire along
the way(read:Wolfie). You haven't
been in the valley for the big Green Drakes, so I hope
they are there for you this visit!
Tom
