Are you always this much of a dick?

You think THAT was "much"?

Tell ya what, if you want to see to what level we can take this, I'm
guessing that even you can figure out the next move.

Well?

I'm thinking of bringing meats for our fishing trip in July.
Anyone use a vacuum food sealer?

I use a Tillia. Vacuum pack fish for the freezer. Works great. Keeps
the stuff very nice. The Halibut I got in Homer last July is still
great shape. Commercially vac packed and sealed. For a fishing trip, I
would just use the Baja Vacuum pack. Put the meat in a good Ziploc and
submerge the bag except for the top in water, forcing out the air. Then
freeze. You are not going to be storing the food for a long time and
that is where the vacuum pack excels.

Bill, I like that!
Understand the idea of forcing the air out of the Ziploc by submerging
the bag
in water....excellent! Tried to do a search, but coming up empty on the
Baja
Vacuum Pack. Is that a stainless steel vacuum jar?
thanks,
-tom

The Baja Vacuum Pack is what Jonathon Roldan of Baja calls the submerging
of the Ziploc.

Bill,
Thanks, helps when tying a name to the idea for a search, but understand the
concept. I'll use it when I'm in Alaska this July.
