Only I was the shooter, in a sense.... lol I was bank fishing this public state owned pond, about 30 acres and it was long and narrow, probably about 7 or 800 feet across, and here comes this model boat club, and they set up camp across the pond from me. I was like, "cool, this ought to be neat to watch". I kept on fishing. Next thing I know, these things are whizzing around the whole damn lake at about 40 or 50 miles an hour, and they kept getting closer and closer to me fishing. One came about 20 feet away from me and about hit my line, and I heard them all chuckle and laugh over there. In my state that could get those RC boaters jail time, as they would infringing on a Constitutional right for people to fish. It is a felony in Alabama to in anyway interfere with a person legally fishing We have an anti harrasment law here in Az too, but I have never even one time heard of anybody ever enforcing it. It is a felony in Alabama to in anyway interfere with a person legally fishing We have an anti harrasment law here in Az too, but I have never even one time heard of anybody ever enforcing it. We have a number of PETA members behind bars now, for trying to scare the fish from guys in a tournament. I asked the local game Warden about that law, he told me he had made five arrest in two years on it, on four of those cases the fishermen got the numbers off the boats (or PWCs) and swore out warrants. He told me they take that law very seriously here. He also said you really need more than one witness or a good photo, or video which is much better, (which nearly all digital cameras, and many phones can now take) for a conviction. A few years back down at Gulf Shores West Pass, they nailed 4 guys for anchoring a boat in the way that blocked off about 30 beach fishermen from fishing the out going tide for red fish, these guys saw "us" catching reds on every cast, and just anchored right were the fish were holding,(they tried to fish there themselves, but instead they did a lot of lead dodging from us), they also cut every line that crossed their boat. I walked up on the street and flagged down a cop, they spent 6 months in jail over that little deal. Of course them threatening that cop I'm sure had something to do with their jail time. -- Rodney Long SpecTastic tackle company http://spectastictackle.com/ |
