Calf tail is considerably more coarse than snowshoe foot. As stated by Bob, the snowshoe floats a bit better, and collects a bit more in the way of air bubbles with it's finer texture. On the other hand, for wings on larger flies, calf's tail, and body hair is fine stuff. Tom |
