Default Boat problem

What would cause my primer ball on my outboard to go soft after about a
min. And then my motor starts to die because a lack of fuel? I do see
some fuel on the lines, could this cause my motor to lean out? It will
take off and run after a few sputters. Oh the motor is a 1997 johnson
venom 200 hp.

You have an air leak in your fuel line or the primer bulb. If you've never
changed the fuel line and primer, it's time to do so. After time, weather
and ozone will degrade the rubber and pinhole leaks develop, allowing air
into the line.

Change the entire line, from fuel tank to outboard, including the primer
bulb, it isn't difficult.

sounds like you have a pin hole leak in the line. Fuel lines are not
expensive and it's the easyest fix (unless of course you have the vent on
the tank closed ). Doc
