ROFFers:
I've been test-casting some 4 and 5 weight rods, and the Winston Boron IIt (new this year) feels pretty sweet. I'm thinking about buying the 9-ft 4-piece 5-weight, but it's pricey. Do any of you have one or know about the rod? Thanks, John in Colorado |

oups.com... I've been test-casting some 4 and 5 weight rods, and the Winston Boron IIt (new this year) feels pretty sweet. I'm thinking about buying the 9-ft 4-piece 5-weight, but it's pricey. Do any of you have one or know about the rod? The action of BIIt is nothing like the BIIx. It has an action similar to the IM6/WT series but still has the reserve power to punch a long cast like the BIIx or their LT series. Personally I think the 8½ foot version is a little more versatile than the 9' 5wt. I first tried the rods this past November and ordered the 8' 4wt on the spot. If you decide on either model, match it with a Rio Selective Trout DT or a Wulf TT and you should be pleased. If you go to www.winstonrods.com/forum there are multiple threads dealing with this series. |
