Here's the Fishing Report from the fly shop in Boulder Junction, WI: ================================================== ==================== Trout Inland Trout season ends Saturday September 30th, but low water levels have hurt our trout populations and it is best for the survival of the resource to cease all your trout fishing for the season! ================================================== ==================== Damn the luck. Now what ? I still plan to leave Urbana this Sunday and go fishing for a week or two *somewhere*, the question now is where. The Boulder Junction/Sylvania/Watersmeet area is nice because you can fish for trout, musky, pike and smallies all in the same area. I guess I could go up there and fish for musky, pike and smallies but I'm thinkin' I'm gonna punt and go somewhere where I can wade in a trout stream. Who knows where the good trout fishing is gonna be happenin' next week ? (And is willing to post it to roff ;-) I do. See above TR. Come out I'll take you. Just might cure you of your Utahphobia. Russell Really. |

Thanks for the invite, and thanks to all for the suggestions, (except Louie who has inexplicably kicked me out of the Peter Charles Suite and into the garage, Bite Me Louie ;-), but I'm gonna stick around here in the Midwest. I'm down to three choices, Boulder Junction sans trout, the Ausable Holy Waters sans dry flies or a float trip down the Wisconsin River from Spring Green to the Mississip' sans any sort of good fly fishing at all. Could be worse. -- Ken Fortenberry |
