I don't recall seeing any floats going down the parade route aflame in the
70's, which is what I think is the likeliest outcome of mixing you and a
float.

Ever see a 22 foot tall, four-poster bed loose control whilst rolling
down a street packed with people, jump the curb and run into the
crowd? Its not pretty.
