Good memory Op.

About a year and a half ago we moved to Downeast Maine, the last
county in the United States to be more precise. It's extremely rural
and wild, and I love it. My wife's job is not working out so good
(that is to say the job was not what was represented), so we need to
consider relocation, probably next summer. The goal is to take a few
baby steps back into civilization, without falling into suburban hell.

This month we are doing a whirlwind tour of jobs in Pennsylvania,
Eastern Oregon and Central New York. Access to flyfishing is a
definite requirement.

We've considered North Carolina back and forth; I have a brother-in-
law in Asheville who would love us to relocate there, but after a year
in Durham (back in the '90's) and 11 years in Memphis I've become
allergic to the Southeast. It's all that unrestrained suburban
development mixed with self-rightious conservatism. Plus, it's hot!
and getting hotter every year it seems.
