It appears the ranch Dick hunts on works in this fashion.

The birds are raised in a pen...you tell the 'guides' how many birds you
want to shoot.

You go out into the field and take up your position. The 'guide' takes the
bird into a bush and when you are ready, he let's them go...

The bird gets maybe 4 seconds of freedom . . .

I thought it was pretty sick...

And this surprises you - how?

Sounds like the status quo for the likes of Darth Cheney - who is responsible
for nearly 4000 troops killed and 20,000 injured, but who "had more important
things to do" when it was his chance to serve...

Did you serve, El Cheapo? Yeah, I didn't think so. Mustn't throw
stones now. Of course there isn't too many on roff who *have* served.
The two Franks for sure, Mark was in for a tour, and Wolfgang was in
the CG, but I don't remember Tatosian or Barnard ever serving.
Probably "had more important things to do."

As far as our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, they are all
professionals, all volunteers, something you would *never* do for your
country. Eh? You're a taker, Tatosian, not a giver.

Rave on, Davey. Rave on. I don't care any longer.
Whatever power you thought you had you have no more.

So go right ahead. It's all on you now.

Right, free to continue with your cheap shots.

If one has never served their country, he shouldn't call into question
others who have not. Just a little itzy bitzy hypocritical. But,
that's your way; I shouldn't expect anything less.

That's bull****. Cheney is responsible for the deaths and
maiming of thousands of our young men and women and hundreds
of thousands of innocent Iraqis and he dodged the draft when
it was his time in the barrel.

And joining the military is but one way to serve your country.

Dave, couldn't agree more.

And for those of us that Couldn't serve, we support in other ways... While
I couldn't for med reasons, Proud to say that my Father was a Marine. And
proud to be part of this country I am. Where our Volunteers are serving and
dying for us in foreign lands. They all volunteered to go into the service
knowing full well they may be called upon. To those I raise a glass in their
honor...
