Aussies? Any news about rugby or Australian rules football? And how
about all you soccer fans out there? And how about curling, field
hockey, billiards, cribbage, dog sledding, hackysack, snowboarding,
ultimate frisbee, biathalon, bridge, chess, squash,, etc.?

And I want to encourage you to keep on posting sporting news
of interest to you. Don't limit yourself to tennis, tell roff
all about figure skating, ballroom dancing and synchronized
swimming too !

Having met you face-to-face on several occasions (none of them pleasant)
I think I know what makes you tick. Because of your pudgy face, your
pear-shaped body, and your prissy demeanor you were no doubt mercilessly
teased as a child, so you're spending your adult life trying to
compensate for it on ROFF with pseudo-macho posturing.

Is that what I'm doing ? Well, thank you ever so much for
taking the time to figure all that out. I will make a note
of your careful observations and give them all the consideration
they deserve. Thanks again.

I forgot to mention: You're also quite short.

...Turn off the TV and do something useful.

The US is kicking Russia's ASS in Davis Cup. Roddick and Blake won in
singles convincingly (especially Roddick). The Bryan twins are favored to
clinch the tie with a doubles win. They're playing right now, up two sets
to love. This will be the first Davis Cup championship for the US since,
IIRC, 1995....

How can you NOT love this?!

who supposes that the ability to absorb UHF and microwave signals directly
into the brain and decode them without the use of bulky equipment must have
some as yet poorly understood adaptive value.

Well I'll be damned, I hate to admit it but rw was right.
That *was* annoying. ;-)

Yeah, but rw is annoying.

Whereas you're merely an egotistical, cheap-ass windbag.

I want to encourage Lazarus to keep 'em coming. How about you Aussies? Any

You know, this is, even for you, an extraordinary effort to cover your ass
for what was, after all, just another in a long list of ****-ups. Why not,
just this once, simply admit that stomping on your dick (thus demonstrating
a shortness of leg worthy of note by the folks at Guinness) is sort of a
hobby born of necessity and be done with it?

Not to be contrary or anything of the sort, BUT THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL
SEASON IS HARDLY OVER!

I can't WAIT!

so sorry, I meant to write that, for UNC, the football season was over. I
abbreviated, and, if I don't intervene, every solitary poster to ROFF will
catch me on it.g

....sheesh! Sharp-eyed lot, when they want to be....
i do appreciate the gentlemanly approach you have taken with your
proposal for a double or nothing wager. it is quite impressive, especially
given your, well, northern origins; however, in view of my own
inexcusable failure to remember our earlier wager(s)?, and the undeniable
fact that they have gone, to this point, unpaid, i cannot accept your
generosity. if you will, once again, note me by email, i will remedy my
slothful condition. however, if you would only make the same bet for next
season, when i fully expect to see the old carolina blue in a respectable
bowl, i would be, indeed, grateful.

Hey, half of my family hails from the Old Dominion.....and, I learned
recently, one came over on the first boat to Virginia. I have some sense of
civility, of a Southern nature.....well, sort of.

no big deal, although here again, it might be illustrative to note the
difference between cultures. My forebearers view "forgotten" wagers far
differently than those of my beloved spouse, once named Cappiarola, whose
family arrived here from Sicily(after a couple of generations, they actually
admitted publicly to being here, early census counts were shaky).

however, if you would only make the same bet for next
season, when i fully expect to see the old carolina blue in a respectable

you're on(again), and I do admire that faith!!

Tom
