I suffered some sort of nerve damage in my upper arm/ shoulder last June that resulted in near paralysis of my casting arm and complete loss of dexterity in my fingers. The prognosis was for a 2-4 month recovery time, but as of today its creeping up on 6 months, and although movement and strength has mostly returned to everything but my little finger, there is not enough dexterity to control my cast (or to control the line or reel if I cast left handed). And when I try to thread a #16 fly, my arm and hand shake so much that I cannot hope to get the tippet through. After dealing with the angst of losing all last summers' fishing, I find it unbearable to believe that I might lose much of this summers' fishing also. And anything else that requires two hands. Can't offer you any constructive advice other than to take up a new hobby....like drinking excessively while playing with loaded guns, or something. --riverman (or maybe not) |

Are GWB's alcoholism and drug use to be criticized on par with Kennedy's, or is there a double standard here? Unless luck is a valid criterion for the office, GWB is as unfit to be president as Ted Kennedy by your standard. Laura (Welch) Bush ran a stop sign at age 17 and killed a classmate. Does that really matter? Joe F. |

Does that really matter? Joe F. Whoaaaa. Seem to have struck a nerve in that sensitive tooth. Ted Kennedy is a spoiled brat. Always has been, always will be. He had a history of getting into trouble because of his drinking. Remember the time he and Chris Dodd broke picture frames in a DC eatery. Both blasted out of there minds. GWB has no such history. Yeah, he got caught DUI. So did Mark Bowen. Remember when Teddy Bear took his *son* and *nephew* out drinking in Florida and the nephew was brought up on rape charges? Some uncle there! Kenney was married to the sweetest woman you could ever meet, Joan. He drove her to drink and today she is a helpless alchoholic. He got his marriage annulled after 20+ years. What a hypocrite. Take a look at his swollen gin-blossom face. He is a drunkard. Bush is not. hth |

Kennedy's new autobiography soon to be released is going to be called, "The Sober Years... A 4 page pamphlet by Ted Kennedy". What's the matter, Joe? Afraid Hillary is going down in flames? d;o) My original post, Joe, was a come-back joke to Fred's joke, only he wasn't joking. |
