8 down, six to go. They should be out by this weekend. Ratty looking
things these tabou caddis, but they fish well through the whole water
column, and in a pinch can be used as a hare's ear.

creeks !!!

they will ship you Zap

Oil Slick Foam-[has a brilliant swirled pearlescent metallic backside
especially forJiminy Cricket}-----and they sell vises

Nice to hear from you too, are you still tying those clever flies and
writing those limericks?
Ernie

Still developing flies, yes. You can find some of my new mainly salt
water stuff here;

http://www.ukswff.co.uk/Forum2/viewf...665f56ae 6a5b

I don´t write much in the way of limericks etc any more, but here´s
one off the top of my head;

Little miss ****y, threw a big hissy,
because she did not get her way!
when men of sense spied her,
they began to deride her,
and that simply blew her away!

I didn't know you were into sal****er fishing, where do you go?
I see you are still very inventive in your tying.
Thanks for the limerick, I miss the good old days when George was around. I
wonder if anyone carried on his bamboo fly rod business?
Ernie

I mainly fish the Baltic, but occasionally I get to fish other places
as well. Have also fished the North Sea and some Atlantic coastlines,
but not as often any more.

Gehrke´s site is still up and running, so somebody must be paying the
bills for it. Don´t know whether they still sell rods, but they still
sell a lot of Gink and stuff apparently. I assume his wife and
children carried on the business? Honestly don´t know.

Hi,

Almost finished tying, only a coupple more to go. Should be out by the
week end or monday the latest.

Seem to be a lot of tyers tying the TBA fly. How many variation of that
fly do you need in your box to be a happy camper? ;-)

Look dammit...y'all stop this nonsense. You won't be getting anything
in the swap til I'm done and that will be sometime in February at the
earliest. And...if you simply must conclude your end prematurely,
please refrain from posting about it til February. I simply cannot
abide all this haste nor can I lawfully consort with folks who appear to
abhor the mopre civilized trait of proper procrastination. Joe, surely
you can concoct a rule to impose on these braggarts.

I can't control there guys. I'm trying to set a proper example by leaving
all of my tying equipment in the basement until February, but there's always
a few who have to show off by tying more than one an hour. I don't know
what to do with 'em. (Hey, can I borrow wayno's vise when you're done with
it?)

....a little help you say? uh...apparently you forget the albatrosses i
must confront daily in the pitt.

my good chap, i say, can you have your man do up a few of those glass
minnow or gummy minnow things for the nonce? if necessary, though i'd
never wish to impose, perhaps you could do a few of your own
making...yours are a true art and finely crafted, and will be ardently
admired no doubt by these hurriers of the hook and feather. i'm sure
you've noted that all these foreign, non-carolinian *******s are
preparing flies quicker than any nigerian, korean, thai, chinese, or
morganton contract worker...ruining the cadence of the swap. those of us
committed to quality fly tying know too well that one must suffer
patiently for the art.

jeff (mutant is as mutant does...and a miller mutant does as it aint
never been done)

though i appreciate the suggestion...it is a mere 14 hooks with stuff
wrapped about. i've beseeched the assistance of our friend from the
piedmont and feel certain he'll provide a finer provenance than any blue
ribbon jimmy cricket purveyor. hell, he probably had twenty or thirty
tied before any of these pretenders typed their hurried notes of
flymaking. no need to seek assistance from the far west.
