jeff (who hasn't yet acquired the materials to begin tying a sal****er
fly of some type... wayno, where do you keep your vise?)

Joe the elder suggests---sounds as if you should call Blue Ribbon
Flies--
Oh yes -do youhave any hooks?

for the honest flyfisherman, hooks are an unnecessary nuisance. i'm
developing a process of cajoling fish into the hand that requires
concentration, rum-soaked aspiration, and horsefeathers. i'll show it
to you on snowbird. it's numbingly fine and suitably effete.

Look dammit...y'all stop this nonsense. You won't be getting anything in
the swap til I'm done and that will be sometime in February at the
earliest. And...if you simply must conclude your end prematurely, please
refrain from posting about it til February. I simply cannot abide all
this haste nor can I lawfully consort with folks who appear to abhor the
mopre civilized trait of proper procrastination. Joe, surely you can
concoct a rule to impose on these braggarts.

I can't control there guys. I'm trying to set a proper example by leaving
all of my tying equipment in the basement until February, but there's always
a few who have to show off by tying more than one an hour. I don't know
what to do with 'em. (Hey, can I borrow wayno's vise when you're done with
it?)

i think you'll have to drive to fisher's bar in greensboro. i hear
there's a line.

"premature flyjaculation" .... that's one of the best quotes I have ever
heard about flytying! Many thanks for adding this to my vocabulary.
Something tells me that these words can easily be used in tying-lessons
also.
But seriously: I just tied along with the sign-ups. No intentions to be the
bravest boy of the class. My flies have to travel a long way and I don't
want you guys to be waiting for them ;-)

Hi Joe,

Just finished! I'll pack 'm tomorrow en post 'm the day after.

damn!! now that just aint right nor proper hans. you obviously don't
realize the pain, sweat, blood, expense, stress, cussing, missed meals,
wasted materials, etc. that are required for these swaps. premature
flyjaculation is simply unacceptable and impolite. g

My 14 opal X-Caddis should be in the mail Tues. Finished 'em up the other
day, but haven't made it to the post office yet.

jeez...this is depressing.reckon i'll need to go buy some stuff today
just to have a bit of progress to report. wayno...if you say your stuff
is in the mail before the deadline...well, you'd best bring a sharp
knife when next we meet.

With ambitious intentions, I actually excavated all of the supplies I
was going to need, set up the vise, & promptly realized I didn't know
where my dubbing wax was. Found it over the weekend, so I still have
a shot at using my own vise by the deadline.

Happy tying, men. If anyone has shipping or other logistical issues, let me
know.

well boyoz...with intense concentration, application of all my tying
skill, and full devotion to the spirit of camaraderie entailed in the
swap, and having been granted the use of wayno's vice...uh...vise, i
have...with great effort and cost...acquir...uh...completed the 2008
mutants. the surrogate miller mutant flash minnows are ready for
shipping. with the generous donation to me of his only vise, i fear the
effort of my friend wayno may have been prejudicially delayed...but,
prayers to the goddesses be granted, i am certain, being the artisan he
is, wayno shall complete his labors within time enough to meet the
deadline imposed by our draconian swapmeister. now...uh...remind
me...where do i send these works of art?
