Oh, good grief. Does the name Roosevelt ring any bells? No? Adams?

Wolfgang
well, what can one expect in a world in which some local "sports"
franchise or other wins some parochial championship or other and
everybody starts to bleat about "dynasties"?

Not to mention the Harrisons...wait...I just did....

It's true that Ernie and wayno are old enough to be dynasties unto
themselves but, to the best of my knowledge, they are not closely related.

Wolfgang
who won't even go into that whole legitimate transfer of power thing.

From their ROFF avatars Ernie and Wayno seem to be fine fellows but I
meant the two Harrison's that were Presidents of the United States. From
the Harrison clan William Henry and Benjamin were the two I had in mind.
They were the only Grandfather/Grandchild pair to have occupied that post
to date. Benjamin was the first president to preside (heh, heh) over a
billion dollar federal budget. I wonder who the first was to a trillion?

Oh, THOSE Harrisons!

The nice thing about American political dynasties is that there's no good
reason for anyone to notice them.

Of course, the Chinese, the Indians and the Egyptians (to name just a few)
probably don't know that and are, as has been noted, doubtless viewing the
trend with increasing unease.

watched tv-broadcast of obama's speech in madison tonight... wow. but,
also caused me to think of that interesting trip when we passed near
there on the way to the kickapoo...

both involved thoughts of traveling toward something new and unique...

the shad are beginning to show in the neuse river down here... still a
bit weak. but, i'm looking forward to the herald of the new fishing
season. the shad are the start of it.

No ****? It's February for god's sake. I don't expect to see them up
here until April. I'd expect them to be earlier down there, but
February?

Coincidentally, I was just thinking about shad flies yesterday. Might
be something to this circadian rhytym thing.
