So, in other words, you don't know of any rule anywhere that states you

must
use a fly rod/reel.......it is in fact not the case that, "Fly fishing in
the regs of most states I've fished (where it says "Fly fishing only")
required a fly rod/reel.".....you just made that **** up, right?

Wolfgang
who does most of his casting with that portion of the line OFF the reel.

Gee, wolfie, ya got me again.

It ain't so tough when you're dealing with someone who has explicitly
confessed his character in a public forum.

The ****in' net nanny strikes again.

Being a civilian really sucks, don't it? ANYBODY can disagree with you and
you can't even have him flogged.

Wolfgang
and **** YOUR peace.

LOL. If ya really wanna know why I said reel, it's because a game warden
checked my license along with two other guys. It was 10 years or so ago when
adding weight to your line was not allowed. The two kids that were walking up
the road with me had split shot on their leaders. The warden said not to worry
- "as long as you have a fly rod and reel with fly line, I couldn't care less
about the split shot." I used that as a source. It happened again several
years later with a different warden.

So, go directly to **** You.
Do not pass go.
Do not collect $200.

Being a civilian, btw, is great. I have no reason to flog you or anyone else.
I don't hate you, Wolfgang, nor do I hate Fortenberry. I just don't like the
way you talk and would rather not be around either of you. Wayno is right.

And you still smell and dress like a bum. d;o)

Hee, hee, hee.

If ya really wanna know why I said reel,

Well, actually, I didn't. Or, to be more precise, I already had a pretty
good idea of why you did that and, as my comment suggested, it had little to
do with the dissemination of factual information. See, that's the nice
thing about a democratic institution like usenet (notwithstanding the fact
that most find that democracy repugnant); you get to spew forth any sort of
**** or nonsense you please.....and then others are free to respond as they
see fit.

Yeah, that's a really heartwarming story. Leaving aside, for the moment,
the fact that the warden was an idiot (and assuming, of course, that the
story bears a familial resemblance to the truth) who would be well advised
to delve into the regulations concerning allowable equipment in whatever
godforsaken excuse for a state the alleged incident occurred in, it's still
a bull**** rationalization for deliberately stating as true in most of the
states you've fished what you had no reason to believe was true in any of
them, and what is, in fact, NOT true in any of them.

I used that as a source.

No, you are TRYING to use it as an escape route. Not many here will
acknowledge your failure......but they'll notice.

It happened again several
years later with a different warden.

Wardens. I've had a bit of experience with wardens. I once handed one of
them, here in Wisconsin, his first courtroom defeat. Not that any of this
redounds to my credit.....it was really a very simple matter. One of us
knew the regulations, and the other didn't. One of us tried to bull**** his
way through, and the other had no need to.

So, go directly to **** You.
Do not pass go.

I can hardly argue with any of that.

Being a civilian, btw, is great. I have no reason to flog you or anyone

else.

No one suggested that you have any reason......makes the overwhelming urge
all the more inexplicable and distressing, wouldn't you say?

I don't hate you, Wolfgang, nor do I hate Fortenberry.

I wasn't aware that it was an issue. Now that you've mentioned it though,
you have, in the few years I've frequented ROFF, frequently displayed a rage
that is the handmaiden of hatred. The truth.....and it's no secret.....is
that you are an avid, if not necessarily very effective, hater.

I just don't like the
way you talk and would rather not be around either of you.

No surprise there. In fact, I was aware of it for a couple of years before
you gave up the charade. And, for what it's worth, you have my blessing.

Wayno is right.

Frequently, in my experience. Now, in the unlikely event that he should
prove so ungracious as to fail to thank you for bringing him into this
little tete a tete, please allow me to do so for him......I am certain he
will thank me for it.

And you still smell and dress like a bum. d;o)

Sort of a wolf in wolf's clothing, one might say, hm? Well, I suspect I
wouldn't be much good at pretending to be a gentleman to the manor
born......so few are, really.

To be compared thus favorably with perhaps the premier defenestrator of all
time, and by so august a judge of character, is high praise indeed! One can
only wish his own modest efforts could make him worthy of so signal an
honor.

Cabin fever started early this fall, or did ROFF get mixed in with a
