Default Reality check

They just opened a new outdoors store just up the road from
me...."Kentucky Lakes Outdoors". I went over there this morning to look
around. They were still stocking the place, but it was fairly
impressive, half of the store was hunting, and half fishing stuff. I got
a reality check when I started looking at the prices of the fishing
gear! I haven't bought any fishing gear to speak of, in over 10
years...thanks to the kid.

They had a large selection of Loomis rods, and when I looked at the
price tags, I started thinking about my old "cane pole" days!

But it was the line prices that blew me away, I had no idea line had
become that expensive. I looked at some fluoro carbons...$39.95 for 250
yards.

I spent an hour just looking at all the stuff...I haven't been in a
large outdoors place in a long time!

I ended up buying one package of Yamamoto senkos (blue pearl). I ran out
of the ones John sent me, and those are my "go to" bait for this little
lake. I think it was a 10 count package for $8, I'll be more careful
with these than the free ones!

I'll probably go back every few days...just to talk fishing, I'm kinda
isolated here in the cabin, and often times I'm the only one fishing the
lake. But I think I'll leave my wallet at home!

The weather has been warming up, and the fishing is getting better on a
daily basis...thank God for spring!

Sounds kind of like our local Bass Pro - they have something for
EVERYONE....Fishing, boating, hunting, camping, ORVing, etc. They
also have indoor ranges for both archery and firearms. However, if
you want to save $$$$ you have to wait for the right sale to come
around.

Maybe a really part time job at the fishing counter to kill some time and
get an employee discount is in order?
