Of course. But not because of your reply.

It is good netiquette to say "thank you" when people help you out by
answering your questions. Hell, it's just plain politeness to say
"thank you" when someone helps you out.

Yeah, your welcome and I ain't holdin' my breath.

You from NJ?

Dave

Gee, I'm sorry, Dave.

But what? ...no thank-you for my conveniently affording you the opportunity
to reveal, once again, what a pompous ass you are? How impolite of you.

Man, you haven't even built any bridges and here you are burning them.

It's ok.

You are absolutely right, Dave. I was remiss. I should have acknowledged
you for your informative response in the other thread. OTOH, if you don't like
my lack of response, you are perfectly free to respond in kind. I don't
need your sarcastic criticism. If you feel the need to dispense it, expect
a return dose.

For a newbie who's never caught a fish on the fly you sure are quick
to alienate those who could really help you.

You might want to pick another alias and come back to roff with a
different persona, one with a little more honesty and a lot less
prick.

A manners lesson from Lord Frothberry. Un-freakin'-believable.

Jay-sus! ....some of you are really full of yourself. I tell you what. You
don't like me, don't respond to me. It's really that simple. I'll even
help you with your kill/score file. Howzat for appreciation. (eye-roll)

I wouldn't call telling someone to disappear and then reappear
with less of a prick attitude under a different alias a lesson
in manners.

Puleeze! LaCourse just wants notbob to kiss his ring. He gets into this
trivial status **** time and again. Its sickening.

LaCourse is a pretty good nymph fisherman (unlike you), but I'm afraid
he's like a legend in his own mind.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I just received this from a friend:

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of
battle.
Live simply,
Love generously,
Care deeply,
Speak kindly.......
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...
It's about learning to dance in the rain.

I do not now how this pertains to this thread but I am certain that in some
ways it does
It is not easy to do this esp w some on this list but perhaps w some of
those that have recently departed - It will be easier

Well, now, I'm not so sure about that. First, I went back and looked,
and "notbob" ended the OP with "TIA" - while thanking individual
responders is certainly polite, I don't see it as some absolute, esp.
around here, where threads often, um, wander. That said, I noticed that
"notbob" did participate in the thread, just not with Dave, as far as I
saw. I gotta say, IMO, Dave can be pretty petty toward those who
disagree or challenge him in any way (he's by no means alone in that
around here), and to upbraid "notbob" for not specifically thanking him
is, again IMO, more pettiness.

You might want to pick another alias and come back to roff with a

Um, Tim...if you're fishing around for POTW candidate...

OTOH, any less prick and he'd have to come back as "Susan" or "Mary Ann"
or something...

Help? Oh, I suspect not...well, not universally, anyhoo...
