You're the one who came charging out from the sidelines like some psycho junkyard dog, spewing obscenities in order to save your imagined kingdom. I wasn't addressing you, so it was you who attacked me. Same with dogbreath. I kiddingly suggest part of his post made no sense. Hell, coulda been me. I don't claim to be the sharpest knife in the drawer. But we'll never know, cuz he goes ballistic and I've another wounded ego to dodge. Finally, Davey-boy is incensed because I said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! I got news for you, pal. You got some real doozies in this group. If you don't have some reason to fight, you make 'em up out of thin air, just like a buncha schoolyard bullies. Well, I got news for ya'. I don't bully fer crap. There's some nice folks in this group and you buncha nut cases don't own roff. Now, you want to talk with me in a civil manner, I'll respond in kind. You come at me like some self rightous asshole, I'm not going to run off and come back in some other guise that just happens to suit you. Got that, Mistress Mandy? nb |

Me!? its usual anonymous spew snipped Yeah, you. You've been nothing but a clueless, rude nitwit from the very start of your ignominious stint here in roff. I almost regret ever having been civil to someone as ungracious and distasteful as yourself but then it's better to give the benefit of the doubt. But there is no longer any doubt. My parting advice; forget fly fishing, you have neither the temperament nor the capacity to become proficient enough to satisfy yourself with it. I hope you didn't spend too much on the gear. -- Ken Fortenberry |

This fantasy occured in which of your parallel universes? nb Notbob, let me clue you in on a few things. Just about everyone on roff knows each other. Many of us have fished together. We may or may not be of the same political persuasion, like the same single malts or beer, or agree with how to pursue wiley trout, but we do respect each other's fishing talents. You are a newbie, new not only to roff but new to fly fishing. You come to roff seaking help and advise only to alienate most of those whom are willing to help you. Annonymous posters to roff do not last very long. Yeah, there are those that sound annonymous (davplac, rw, day tripper, to name a few), but everyone knows who they are, where they live, and in the above three examples, most of roff has fished with each of them. So, my advice to you is to listen and accept the good advice you get, try not to alienate anyone, and come out of the closet. There are no boogey men on roff who are out to get you, therefore annonimity is neither necessary nor desired. If you are not bob, then who the hell are you? Davey-boy |

If any of you are alienated by the fact I don't fit your narrow preconceived notions of how a roff denizen should act, think, talk, breath, respond, kow-tow, whatever, that is your problem, not mine. I did not set out to offend or intentionally malign any person in this group and have only responded in kind. You show me where I initiated a row by calling someone a mother****er or telling anyone to kiss my ass. You can't do it because it never happened. Yes, I was a bit short with you, being on the defensive, here. But, you got a left-handed apology and you're not exactly without sin. In fact, one of your own called you on the exact same haughtiness I fascetiously attempted to deflate. Again, I appreciate your extensive response, but I'm no one's sycophant, so let it go. try not to alienate anyone.... Apparently, not a two way street in roff. There are no boogey men on..... According to you, I occupy that postition. therefore annonimity is neither necessary nor desired. If you are not bob, then who...... I'm real happy you folks know one another. I like to think I might someday get to know some of you personally, also. But, I'm very close mouthed about my identity, even in ng's I've been in for years. Even to people I've known on the net for years. That's me. Take it or leave it. Besides, last time I checked, anon nicks were the traditionally accepted form of identification on usenet and personal identities are not proffered until such info is earned by trust. Yeah, that's happening. I've said it once and I'll say it again. I will interact in a civil manner to those who do likewise. Such a sensible approach seems to be working just fine with several people, here. Gee, maybe it's not entirely me. nb |

You lack that certain Jenny-say-quah of insane offensiveness we so prize here at ROFF Central. Instead you whine out this need for understanding. The proper response to hostile reaction is not always "fight or flite," That's too doglike for all situations. Other options are 1. Taking the **** if you are wrong, 2. learning, 3. ignoring (as in "****em if they can't take a joke.") 4. Moving on and just posting fishing stuff untill you understand the varieties and ins and outs of the various wackynesses that prevail in most loose male groups.like ROFF, 5. Going out to the garage and moving **** around until you need a beer or forget about it, 6. Stocking up on ammo for the holiday season. Besides, if you think this is some unfair circus you shoulda been here in the old days when the dog-beating midget with the two whore Vegas lasso act, and the manufacturer of the Black ******* were in their prime. This now is tame ****. Dave |

You were given the benefit of the doubt. Most newbies who come here with the conventional netiquette are treated quite well. You might want to give some thought as to why you're considered an anonymous prick. http://tinyurl.com/5p325x -- Ken Fortenberry |
