While that's probably correct, it's not really a redemptive - the
committee consists of the Mayor of Denver, the Governor of Colorado, the
Dem Senator, a Dem House member, a Dem councilwoman, and a token
civilian, a connected lawyer...and hizzoner da Mayor's primary defenses:
"Oh yeah? Well, the GOP is doing it..." and when that didn't fly, he
switched to "it's OK because our committee is non-partisan..."

IAC, given that they expect to use some 100,000 gals of gas and evading
the tax would have saved some 40 grand, I'd offer that if in the search
for green, they went looking for organic, union-made totebags, someone
with some juice at the DNC knew about the tax holiday...

the real show doesn't start until after the conventions, and I sure do hope
there is a bit more to chew on than the
assorted "gaffes", dissecting Obama's trip abroad, Jesse Jackson, and how
McCain parses recent history. There is the potential(as I stated to you,
once, I believe) for an real debate as to the nature of how to move the
nation forward. Now, let's see if these two can deal with holding that
debate, or whether the whole process turns into the usual media-driven
drivel-fest.
