The sudden reappearance of both may safely be put down to simple
coincidence, I think. However, the simultaneous absence speaks to something
perhaps more sinister. It is my considered opinion that one was almost
certainly engaged in a program of admirable and edifying pursuits aimed at
self-improvement with an eye toward the betterment of mankind, while the
other was surreptitiously stalking him for reasons that will appear
inscrutable to the casual observer but are doubtless bound up with a
nefarious agenda of some kind. I shouldn't need to remind readers that only
a careful and conscientiously adhered to program of reading everything
written in these pages for the next few years will reveal the full horror of
the truth.
