--Sorry if a repost...I seem to have problems with some messages not
appearing on my server.

It IS a repost. As a matter of fact, it has been posted a hundred or more
times over as many signatures in the past five years or so. NEVER do it
again! Give someone else a chance.

surrounded by selfish *******s.

My apologies...I've just been to Wal-Mart to pick up a new...uh, well,
apparatus.

Default New Waders

Yuji,

My #1 pair is a pants style guideweight. It has provided dry
service for nearly three years. When the new G3's arrived I
thought of getting a pair as a backup. Since I rarely wear chest
highs, I decided on the Freestone.

why the hell would you prefer an inferior product to save a few
bucks? do you like getting wet?

no new waders from simms in 2004.... why? well, it's probably
gonna take the competition 5 years to catch up.

I may never by Simms waders but I was looking at
the G3's the other day. They cost apx. $450. That
seems incredibly high, while $450 for a rod doesn't,
tho I suspect that the material and labor costs are
higher for the waders. Maybe it's because I;ve seem
a lot of $400+ rods but no $400+ waders. Until now.

I never looked at it that way Greg. I'm sure the waders are far
more costly to produce.

Hello Willi,

I choose to patronize any of four "local" (within a one hour drive) flyshops
when possible. Unfortunately, Dan Bailey's products are only available to
me by mail order, something I would avoid for items like waders for which
fit is important.

Thanks much for your suggestion.

Best regards,

You might look at one of the Bailey waders.

For backup waders I'd try the Hodgmans. They are durable, pack small, and
they're cheap.

Interestingly, I had a pair of Ronny waders and they were terrible.

"Wayne"

Say, has anybody checked

That's about the most offensive thing I've read in a while. There are
drawbacks to being an American. We are spoiled and smug some of our
neighbors are spoiled smug assholes. Sorry Yugi.

Yes Yuji, you "qualify as a prick according to [ONE] of the other denizens
of this newsgroup." I think the majority of us (me included) understood
EXACTLY what you were sayin'.

It really is embarrassing to be an American sometimes, with people like
Hart mouthing off. My apologies to all non-US members of ROFF for his
offensive behavior.

Bill Kiene has said in the past that American-made waders (Simms and [I
assume] Patagonia) are (in his opinion, presumably) the best in the
market, and that there are a lot of imported waders that just don't
measure up. Thank God there's at least one manufactured item where the
USA is holding its own. Forget hooks -- that's history.

Eagle Claw hooks are pretty good.

Another thing we Merkins produce in abundance is ignorant xenophobes.
Canada, by contrast, seems to have a shortage of them. So, to help
solve both problems, I propose we export Wayne Hart to the Dominion
of Canada, to repay them for sending us Natasha Henstridge.

Kevin,
who admits that the Canucks got screwed by the exchange rate on that
deal.

Bite Me Vang!!! Henstridge is way cute than Hart. We want at least
two draft picks plus a couple of mil to close the deal. Hell, we'll
even throw in Sheila Copps and Maude Barlow just to show that good
faith thingie. (do a google -- you'll love 'em both).

Hang in there Yuji, we got 40 posts including this one out of these yokels
and they haven't figured it out yet. Usually, a "which waders should I buy"
only gets about 4 or 5 posts these days. Even muskie the tuco can't raise
much of a string. Bill Kiene tries to move 'em along but they are too
constipated to move very fast or very far. Hocky season is warming up, we
might get enough fur flying during hocky season and we could use the
dubbing.
