This morning I had reason to 'remember' my local water and drove over to
take a look. I was pleased to see the water was way down ( much of the year it's used to transport irrigation water and is too high to wade ) and looked good for Okie fishing .. aka nymphing. For around thirty years I've maintained an emergency sanity escape system that is always in my truck ... it consists of everything need to fish and, in season, a shotgun and shells, too. The theory, which was important to my maintaining sanity back in my 70 hour work week days, is that if I get too ****ed off I can go fishing, or hunting ... f--k them G So, I started to dig out my emergency supplies. Then I remembered a license is need to fish, and although I could prove legal status in Idaho, Montana, and Yellowstone, my California license wasn't to be found. This state requires you wear the damn thing displayed so the warden can see from his truck. The rest I had safety pinned in my vest, but the lanyard with the Ca license had been moved to my trailer this summer as it kept getting in my way in that same vest :-( Lesson .... emergency safety systems need regular checking and maintenance |
