A good friend of mine in MA spends a few weeks each year fishing
Poindexter. He began fishing it with his father many years ago. I have
seen many pictures, and it looks like a great place to fish. He has
mentioned the problems there as well. His first name is Marty, in case
you might have run into him.

Here's my week there last summer *( I fished other places too ;-)

One thing I noticed was that ALL the people I ran into fishing the creek
were from ' far, far, away' *.... none locals ... they float the Beaverhead,
literally bow to stern at times so one could walk from boat to bobber to
boat * * *This was my second trip to Dillion, the first about 5 years ago.
Poindexter had gone way down hill in that 5 years ( mostly all years of near
record drought, I should add ) but it could be a truly world class dry fly
fishery. * Sadly, the fly shops all treat it with little respect since their
big *"Hire a fi$h pimp and hi$ boat from u$" income lies elsewhere and
Poindexter only appeals to real anglers not the boat and bobber set G

Marty is about as real as they come. His passion is dry fly fishing,
and he mainly fishes "The Slough" during the PMD hatch. He does fish
other streams in the area, but The Slough is by far his favorite.
