Tight lines in Tierra del Fuego. Are you fishing for those big sea-run
browns? I've heard stories and seen awesome photos. Lots of night
fishing, so I'm told.

Thank you.

Yeah, sea run browns in the Irigoyan and Malanguana Rivers on the
Atlantic coast, literally at the end of the road. Fish after
breakfast until lunch, siesta afterwards, then fish until after dark.

Are you still here? Did you miss your flight or something?

Anyway, check out the relevant section of my friend Dan Cook's
website:
http://www.flyfishingtheglobe.net/
He fished that part of the world and had some extremely excellent fish
to show for it.

Many years ago I saw TV programme about Tierra del Fuego trout fishing.
Anything under 2 lbs was returned !

Hope you're taking a wheelbarrow :-)

Hi, Bill. I'm baaaaaaack. No wheelbarrow, but I did have a fish
break me off on 15 pound tippet, and another bend AND twist the hook.
Both fish were over 20 pounds. My Sage XP 10 ft 7 weight held up
well. Trip report to follow some time in the near future.

how did the waders make out?g
Tom
p.s. ****, I've had Penn's trout bend substantial hooks, but
gotta admit the 15 lb tippet story is impressive. Glad
you enjoyed yourself. Any stream diving?

Yeah, where *is* Richard when ya need him? I've given up counting the
days of use, but it is well over 440, which means at a dollar a day,
they are now free. And, they are working just as well as when they
were new. Stink a little bit, of course, but still doing the job.

I don't know what kind of hook they use for tying, but it is a very
strong hook, and the fish bent it like it was made of tin.

Never pulled a Reid, half or full. Tripped over a dead fall or two,
but never got wet. Broke a brand new Simms wading staff, my third in
a year. Gonna hafta go back to the Falstaff.

Dave
