Parking above the power station is prohibited, and likely will be
forever. It has been listed as prohibited in the ten year access plan,
and I see no reason that will ever change. Easiest access to the Y-
Pool is from a small parking area by a gate on the East (Ware) side of
the river. It is a shorter and easier walk that the main parking area
on the West (Belchertown) side.

There is a small pond (Peppermill Pond) adjacent to the East entrance
to Quabbin. Access is fairly easy from a parking area just East of the
pond, on the same side of the road, or from a turnout just opposite
the pond. It has decent fishig for stockies, and the odd holdover in
spring and fall.
