Louie Dave, how can this be true? When you say "our" healthcare, that is not really accurate is it? You're covered by "Tricare" as are most retirees and military. And you know that TRICARE . . . 1. Already EXCEEDS the standards of the new health reform law, and 2. TRICARE WILL NOT BE TRANSFERRED to the new reform set up 3. That TRICARE operates and under a separate administration and legal framework. You probably didn't read any of the more than a dozen notices, emails etc going back 2-3 months that quite clearly made this point to everybody with the possible exception of Messrs Beck and Limbesmerch. So here is the citation that will catch you up. (Because why else would you pass on bad info intentionally? Certainly not for reasons of blind ideological radicalism.) http://www.tricare.mil/ So at least you personally will not need God to save you from the Democrat/Communist plot to make sure that the next generation of working people will be healthy enough to fight this Nation's battles, raise this Nation's food, and build this Nation's economy, Dave I don't know if I'll get this right from memory, but maybe I'll be close enough.... Rules for political debate when you're on shaky ground: 1. Make up facts to support your arguments (lie) 2. Try to re-frame the argument on better terms for your side. 3. Change the subject so you can frame the terms of a new argument. 4. Change a fact based argument to an emotional one where logic loses. 5. In all cases, belittle your opponent's intelligence, beliefs, and morals. (shoot the messenger) Based on the above criteria... hmmmm... let's see..... Well, you definitely nailed #3 since bringing up Tricare in this context is clearly a red herring and does not address the subject of the OP's link. And you sort of used #4, though in an elusive manner. On #5, you clearly failed to stomp on the OP's morals, though you were able to question his literacy and get a dig in at his religious beliefs (if any). Sorry, I have give your efforts at proper political posturing a dismal 3.5 score. (out of 10). Tsk. Please do better. \s -- "There is no use in your walking five miles to fish when you can depend on being just as unsuccessful near home." M. Twain- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - If you are going to get involved in these things you should at least read the first post. Be that as it may. . . Mostly you are full of ****. But the religious comment takes the cake. The pirate, not me brought up his "God given rights." *You remind me of today's news in which the militia groups still on the loose say the Michigan crazies just arrested by the FBI are getting a bad rap because they are really "not Christian" or militia for that matter. What nonsense. Fact based? I guess it works for you that the Pirate presented zip, no facts. Fact is the Pirate is mostly ignorant of even how Tricare works. See, much of what he thinks is Tricare, is actually paid for by Medicare, and probably the spousal insurance. And not all Tricare is "free," nor are all covered by Tricare service personnel, nor was Tricare around in 1956, and that many wounded are not covered, that most war widows are not covered etc etc. You know who tries to cover the healthcare needs of the aforementioned? Guess. And who runs Tricare? Why it is the same Government that Dave says can't run anything, the same Govt that runs the best military in the world, the best postal service in the world, the most extensive National Parks system in the world, the best weather service, coast and geodetic service etc etc. Here's a fact for you at no charge. In over 35 years of consulting, much of it in fixing human service programs I learned that most MEN, know diddle squat about health insurance or how the schools for their kids work. Your average man for the most part is FULL OF **** AND IGNORANCE about both healthcare and education. But that doesn't stop men from saying and thinking all kinds of nonsense and being big babies and whiners, or angry assholes, when they need something from the healthcare system. *I only need to point to the pictures of the "Teabaggers" waving signs saying "Keep the Governments Hands off my Medicare" to demo my point. Women, on average, understand this stuff much better, and they and their kids have to suffer the consequences of this incredible aggressive ignorance. Work for a week in a public hospital and you will be changed. Dave Well, THAT is a reasoned and intelligent response. :-) Scores much higher too, though the deductions apply for the crude language. -- It was a joke, for crying out loud! -- Perhaps poorly made, but still..... I take no offense at your ludicrous characterization(s) since you are simply venting. And if you were truly offended, I apologize for causing you distress. One point I simply must address however: of all those 'best' government services you mentioned, which run in the black? I'm honestly curious. You lie. End of thread for me. You are not serious and your question is not honest. Not if you are a high school graduate and over 30. FYI Raising a family, government, the military, education, real religions, most scholarship and basic science and many other human endeavors essential to human progress and well being do not usually earn a profit. In most of the developed world, the idea that health- care should be a profit seeking business is considered bizarre. Dave |

You can't really be that self-righteous, intolerant, and narrow minded.... can you? Hard to believe. Though you were 'sort of right' about my hidden agenda with the question. From about.com: ******* Under federal law, only the Postal Service can handle or charge postage for handling letters. Despite this virtual monopoly worth some $45 billion a year, the law does not require that the Postal Service make a profit -- only break even. Still, the US Postal Service has averaged a profit of over $1 billion per year in each of the last five years. ***** I was just testing to see if you actually knew anything about the government programs you touted or were just blowing smoke. I have my answer. B. Bunny said it best, so I won't. \s -- "Still thinking, Giles. Sorry" |
