No, he was serious. *He was very concerned that "so many" Americans
were going to such a "small island." *I lived on Guam for 6 months. *
There were more Americans on Guam during Vietnam than there now will
be. *Google maps Guam and look at all the housing that used to be in
the north-east part of the island. *You can still see the "Elephant
Cage" (Wollenweber Circular Display Antenna). *It's the big round thing
between Anderson and the west coast.

Uh Dave, they're all Americans on Guam.
Frank Reid

I know it's a U.S. territory, so technically, yeah. But when I was
there ten thousand years ago, everyone referred to the locals as
"Guamanians". It wasn't a racial slur - they referred to themselves
that way.

It is now a big tourist stop-over for wealthy Japanese. When I was
there in '57, there were still Japanese soldiers left over from WWII.
One turned himself in just before I arrived.

Ah...so that explains the need for all those Marines...

Nice place....... to visit.

Then why not give those Japanese tourists...wait, screw "give" - they're
"wealthy," so make 'em each rent a rifle while, um, Guaming and tell them if
anyone tries to invade, hang on for at least 12 years...or until you and Brian
Keith arrive, whichever comes first...

Sheesh,
R
....and hold on a sec, here, Frank - when these tourists show up, they give 'em
citizenship? Oh, man, Lou Dobbs is gonna **** a kitten...

Note CicPacFlt's handling of the situation. *Well done, Admiral.

Louie, I think you may have cut class the day the English teacher
covered the use of metaphor and simile. But, heck, it looks like all
the naysayers also cut class that day. My guess is the Central Council
of the Fascist Party of Amerika, (AKA the Taliban Wing of the GOP)
made a decision that their targeted racist audience would prefer a jar
of Dream Whip to a metaphor anyway.
