Actually I have fly fished many times before, I am just still a novice (ok probably intermedate). I have caught trout, half pound steelhead and salmon before but am still at the intermediate/novice level. My equipment was not very expensive, sth and okuma reels are only about $30 - $40, several of the rods were handed down.
