Default Penn's questions

Roger writes:

the ticket is booked and paid for. With the connection flight it was US$
740.

Some questions:

What are the waters that we fish? Small creek(s)? Big river?

Penns Creek is a fairly large stream, wadeable, but you can only cross it at a
few places. I am sure that there will be side trips to smaller creeks. If
Dave PA goes, see if you can bum a ride with him. Great guy who knows the area
well.

Any special flies that are a must?

Most caddis and mayfly imitations work well. I've had lots of luck with PTs
and caddis larva numphs.

Do I bring my own deck of cards or will you bring your marked ones? ;-)

Jeffie will supply the cards, and they won't be marked. d;o)

Do I need to shop for food in advance or is there a place nearby that I can
get what I need?

There's a supermarket in Milheim. We'll stop there if you want. It's just up
the road from where we'll get your license. You can get stuff to make
sandwhiches or whatever you need.

Do you plan dinner in groups or each and everyone to himself?

Usually dinner is whenever someone feels like fixing something. I've learned a
long time ago that it's difficult to get everyone together at one time. But,
you won't go hungry.

Whats lobster night? An excuse to get drunk?

Uhhh, the folks you'll meet at Penns do not need an excuse to get drunk.
Lobster nights is Thursday night at the Milheim. If you've never had lobster,
it will be a treat. You don't have to have lobster, however. They make a very
good hamburger fwiw.

What will the climate be like?

Could be chilly, but nothing that would require heavy clothes. I would say the
temps will be in the 60s or warmer during the day. The water will be cold.
Dress in layers.

Lou, is it OK if I accept your offer on a sleeping bag and mattress?

There are two couches in the cabin also.

I have a four piece rod Sage 490-4LL, will that cover my needs or do I bring
a heavier classed rod?

I'm guessing that is a 9 ft 4 weight? I normally use the same rod in a two
piece model

What will we be fishing for? (Brown trout, rainbow trout, cutthroat or
what?)

Browns and rainbows. If Waldo goes, follow him and you'll catch lots of
suckers. d;o)

Anyone wish to buy something from Sweden? Loop reel or anything like that?

What else do you have to offer? d;o)

He's good at finding the only living Smallmouth Bass in the creek too. Just
can't take the South out of those North Carolina Boys.

in that single run, within 4 hours on the same day, i saw wally catch a
huge sucker or carp, a 20+" smallmouth, a big brown, and an even bigger
rainbow. it was spectacular...
