![]() "Big Dale" wrote (snip) Here's what it says in "Fly Fishing Southern Colorado" by Craig Martin, Tom Knopick, and John Flick: "For a special adventure, consider taking the steam train of the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad from Durango to Needleton. After a two hour ride, hop off and fish for a couple of hours, then catch the train on the way back from Silverton. Such an excursion requires advance planning and reservations" (p. 128) I've always thought it sounded really fun also. The authors of the book do say that the fishing isn't really all that good that far upstream on the Animas. At some point I should at least ride the train, but doubt if I ever will because it's so close to the San Juan and the great parts of the Animas. bruce h |
