Oh I have tried that too. Problems however arise, when people insist on
addressing me personally, and hoping they can get away with whatever
injurious rubbish they write, because they know I am honest, and will feel
bound not to reply. It just does not work like that.

I don´t really need any e-mails, but if people want to e-mail me, even with
insults and the like, they are welcome to. I don´t really care what they
write, as long as they don´t do it on ROFF, or anywhere else publicly, where
I am obliged to reply.

It seems that the recent series of events is once again being scrambled.
Please allow me to refresh your collective memories.

Mr. LaCourse insulted me, quite extensively. For whatever reason he saw fit.
Jumping on the bandwagon that " The Honorable Steven Thomas Barnard" had set
in motion.

When I saw that Mr.LaCourse had signed up for the clave. I merely asked for
my name to be withdrawn from the list. It was.

Mr.LaCourse, of course, could not just leave it at that, he had to ask
publicly if there was any connection, with his attendance, and my
withdrawal, at the same time delivering a sermon.

I replied to Mr.LaCourse, with the truth, which he obviously did not like.
Had he not asked, he would not have heard it, and certainly not in public.
As any lawyer, and many other people will tell you, it is practically always
a mistake to ask public questions of such a nature, unless you already know
the answers.

Of course, I freely admit that I was almost certain that he would ask, and
had indeed already composed my reply, because like many others here, he is
quite unable to control himself in that regard. Instead of simply reading,
understanding, and digesting what is there, they make knee-jerk reactions,
or go looking for all sorts of ulterior motives, or hidden meanings, which
their poor comprehension, coupled with their overactive imaginations then
provide. Blithely ignoring, supplementing, or bending the truth as they go.

Mr. LaCourse and " The Honorable Steven Thomas Barnard" seem quite unable
to simply cease posting insults and the like. I have done nothing wrong,
and I simply refuse to accept this sort of thing in public without rebuttal,
in whatever form I choose.

As soon as these people stop posting this crap, I will cease replying, or
posting anything else to do with it. If they do not cease, then I will
continue. It is as simple as that.

The webtv nut, and any others, assuming they are indeed separate entities,
are a minor problem, on a par with loony cross-posters, and of no interest
to me, apart from providing some amusement. The only people who can do me
any real damage, are long term subscribers to this forum. They can scramble
and distort whatever they like, and they fondly imagine with impunity, or by
uttering lame excuses for their inexcusable behaviour, such as "It´s only
Usenet", etc etc. I don´t care what they regard it as, for me, it is deadly
serious, and I will do my absolute utmost to damage or ridicule anybody who
denigrates or insults me in any way whatsoever.

My hard earned and well deserved reputation in the fishing world, and indeed
elsewhere, goes far beyond this forum, and these people are actively
attempting to undermine it. My only defence is truthful rebuttal, ridicule,
or whatever other leverage I can bring to bear, and I fully intend to make
maximum use of it.

If you punch somebody in the mouth, you must expect to get punched in
return. This is only simple common sense. Of course you may also discover to
your chagrin that the guy you punched is not satisfied with simply punching
you in the mouth, but rips your balls off instead.

Finally, I don´t care what anybody else thinks or does, or publishes on this
forum, as long as they leave me out of their silly squabbles, and generally
childish antics. When and if this occurs, I will cease replying in kind, and
not before.

And so I say again, pefectly seriously and honestly, but with the above
provisos, EOT for me

means they can say goodbye to civility and manners but in the end all they
do is just make an enjoyable place no longer so enjoyable and show their

how? I have been paying attention to these threads, sort of, and can't for the
life of me understand your point, Mike. You were the one who posted the initial
War on Roff item, in it ruminating on how you don't like the place. Others
responded, some mockingly, but NO ONE denigrated your fishing expertise in any
manner. You were the first to attempt to make attendance at Roger's clave some
sort of referendum on who likes who......BTW, I feel badly for Roger, who has
to suffer over his planned clave because you choose to act like a pious
buffoon. You, I hope, will at least offer him an apology? Please, point out
where in the entire process some one attacked your reputation in the angling
world. While you are at it, you might want to reconsider constantly stating
your own importance and the deserved nature of same, as it tends to make you
sound a bit pompous.

what seems to be the case here, is the punchee responds by ripping his own
balls off. At any rate, I think your reputation is more at risk by your own

Hopefully *nobody* ****ed up the clave, but you were the one who
publicly asked Mike if he withdrew because of you. I've seen a lot of
people publicly announce that they would and would not be attending
claves and this is the 1st time I can remember that their motives were
questioned. So you didn't like his answer. Tough luck.
