Oh . . .sure Stan. You're almost finished and I'm still waiting for

hooks.
(first swap I've entered without hav'n all the materials here . . .got
thousands of hooks here . . .just not what I wanted (sigh)

I wanted to use a longer hook (a 6xl #8 would have been good), but all I had
for streamer hooks were 4xl #8 (too short) and 6xl #4 (way too big for the
calf tail I have). It looks fat and stumpy on that short hook, but I'm a
fat and stumpy kinda guy, so next to me it's sleekg.

Looking through my hooks I find that I have completely lost track of
inventory again. Dry fly hooks are everywhere, and almost no streamer
hooks.

Where do you find those feathered deer?

Willi

Hi Willi,
Thanks for asking. The only place I've apparently located them is in
northern colorado, in the Ft. Collins area. Seems like a company having to
do with dogs, did some cross breeding stuff. I can't locate any of the
actual material, but I'm told, through rumors, the owner fishing the stuff,
can catch one or two fish, in a month or so.
COOL!

I think that right about now, I should be negotiating with some hook
companies for a commission on streamer hook sales.

Streamer hooks seem to be one of those supplies I keep forgetting I have.
For the FS2004, I bought a pack of 100, only to find another 100 of the same
style & size in my fly tying bag, then found 100 more in a different side
pocket, along with a few smaller packs of 25 or so. I can do this swap &
still have plenty on hand without a trip to the shop.

By the sound of it, you can do all our flies and still not have to go
back to the shop.

I just sent out an email using the addresses that I have for you. If
you do not receive anything from me, please supply me with a different
email addie.

Is the timetable still 6 weeks? If so, I will re-up and do a second set

if
we don't get somebody to round it up to 20. I'm almost finished with my
Royal Coachman streamers. (pic on abpf).

As an aside, ordered them through Hunter's Angling Supplies over a week ago
. . . in stock . . .shipping UPS. (yawn) Sitting on my front porch with
vise and thread ready . . .nothing from UPS.
I've heard Hunter's are "slow" for some reason. And I have heard some
observations about this tendency before. I'll remind them tomorrow.
Can I substitute hooks? Sure . . .but I want to use a hook nobody can find,
cause ya' can't substitute . . .can ya' . . .except for me, of course.
I like your pattern. I've used it on the East coast of the US, where I
first saw it, and I have a few in one of my fly boxes here on the Rocky
Mountain side, but don't use them. My fault.
