Frog's Fanny Subsitute.

Read the threads a few weeks back about several options for buying "generic"
Frog's Fanny from several sources. Has anyone actually tried one of the
sources and is it a good alternative. The first thing that came to mind was
that the texture. Is it the same? I would think it would need to be or it
could create problems?

I have a gallon of Cab-o-Sil and it appears to be identical in every way to
F.F. If it ever stops snowing up here, I'll field test it.

It works great. Willi has (had!) a huge bag of it.

Man, I bet that stuff is harder to get into the bottle than it is to get
those little foam packaging peanuts back into the box. Any suggestions
before I buy a lifetime supply, or is it pretty much a non-issue?

It's alittle messy, but not hard. I have mine in a large gallon sized
ziplock. I open the bag enough to dip the bottle in, fill it, remove it
from the bag, shake it to settle the stuff and repeat until full. That's
the best way I've found. The stuff is very light and easily gets blown
around.

So you got yours and it is basically identical to the "Frog's Fanny" ??
