You don't fly fish, you've never fly fished, in fact until mere moments ago you've never fished PERIOD. Why are you here ? Why do you post here to boast in front of an overwhelmingly male audience of your sunbathing and your "strong, self-reliance" ? she's not boasting. she just ain't sucking up. can you dig it? Well, perhaps one of you can explain why some female who has never fly fished in her life would post ribald anecdotes to an overwhelmingly male newsgroup devoted to fly fishing. Misunderstood ? Most definitely. Underestimated ? Not likely. yfitons wayno (trust me on this) OK. I do, actually by gawd, trust you. EOT for me. -- Ken Fortenberry |

Next time you go to a restaurant that has those towletts in the sealed foil
packages take a few extras, just be sure to pick up your trash. There are several brands of "baby wipes" in pocket or purse size containers that work pretty well. I suppose catfish or carp can smell them if you got the smell on the bait but trout don't seem to notice. ![]() nfisherman wrote in message ... "MichaelM" wrote in message ... snakefiddler wrote in message ... any tips for getting the smell of fish off of my hands? snake I have heard that steel under running water does the trick ~ I'm not sure if it works though (not having tested it), nor have I a clue of what causes it to work, if it is indeed true. I don't know why it works, but it does. The steel needs to be stainless though. Some outdoor magazines sell "bars" of stainless steel for this purpose. They don't say they're stainless steel, but they are. Cold water works better than hot for cleaning off fish slime too. It's a strange thing, but it it does for onion smell too. We have a stainless steel chinese kitchen knife that never seems to leave the hands reeking of onion, after washing it down by hand in cold running water. Peculiar indeed! ~ anyone any idea as to how the odiferous compounds are either: being destroyed/modified by the combination of cold running water and contact with steel; or, being removed from the hand into the running water, due to contact with steel; or by preventing the compounds from becoming mobile in the air to reach the nose, because of water & steel? Can't really think of anything else ? |
